On Dancing

Sunday, January 15th, 2006

Dancing is great. I’m particularly partial to Latin & Ballroom. It’s very satisfying being able to be in symphony with another, almost becoming one, floating around the floor. I suppose it’s one means of physical expression. The Tango is a great example — being haughty as well as passionate and tender.

Summer School Week One Over

Saturday, January 14th, 2006

Well, it’s a week closer to the beginning of the end. This whole “year 12″ thing has finally dawned up on me, and I’m a little scared. Studying is not really my thing, but I suppose I have to take it one day at a time.

Anyways, the “Summer School” is a set of tutorials covering subjects for this year. The tutors are voluntary students from Melbourne Uni. Some are quite fantastic, some are a little less, but that’s because it’s their first time. It must be hard, and all.

Yesterday, there was ballroom lessons held at lunch. I hadn’t done the Salsa for a while, so I felt quite rusty. Eventually I limbered up, and it was great! Having a competent partner definitely makes things easier too. The second was a tutor, who’s doing Chemical Engineering. Aparantly she’s pretty elite at chem (I’m not doing it myself). She danced very well.

Earlier on in the day [Friday], some friends and I ducked out during a spare to the Vic Markets. Uni is going to be so fun. I relish the freedom offered. And I suppose there is the extra responsibility that comes with it too.

Shameless plug.

Before christmas, I set up a flickr account. It has some interesting things, and some less so. Stuff like my trip to Southern China & Hong Kong when I was very small.

[Hot Coffee] Yay! First Post!

Saturday, January 14th, 2006

Hello nonexistant readers. Let’s start with a statement of intention:

This blog will have no intentions whatsoever. The author is lazy. But he also wishes to explore this “blogging” phenomena. Maybe it’ll stop me repeating myself repeatedly.

I’m not expecting many to actually read this stuff. Anyways, back to idling.

Oh. I like coffee. Real coffee. Mmmm… That’s the reason for the name.
